Turlock?

So, we looked at houses. Many, many houses. Some cottage style houses, some castle like houses. Why the huge difference in styles you ask? Well, it turns out that the farther you get from San jose, the cheaper it gets. Where we are living now is considered prime commuting housing to San Jose. A few cities up in Turlock the houses are just o.k., but the area is beautiful, and just like my favorite part of San Jose, tree ligned streets, and the cutest downtown area. Then another city or two up, on the outskirts of Winton(I think) you can get a castle of a house for the same amount as our house would sell for, the downfall of that is that the city id crap, and only the track of houses are nice. And finally, in the city of Atwater, there are the most adorable houses, cottage style, next to a beautiful golf course, in a wonderful area, for about 50,000$ less. So, we are just in the beginning stages of looking, but I think we made real progress. We would like to think about making the move when the kids are between school years, but if the right thing comes along we might move the next time they are on a month long break, in December. We love the cottage houses, although they are called cottages for a reason, they aren't very big. And our favorite is the city of Turlock, right by their charming downtown area, older homes, but the most wonderful tree ligned streets. The kids were amazingly good for being taken in and out of model homes, and driven around and around to all of these places. We did stop for slurpees and to look at the Turlock library, so they were happy. O.k. I am going to go soak in the Sunday slowness : )
